Free Seminars

The FMI provides government vendors with the opportunity to acquire a Speakers Forum adjacent to the exhibit hall during the FMI PD Week 2007 conference to be held in the Ottawa Congress Centre November 27 to November 30, 2007. This area will seat up to 120 of your special guests and conference participants. Free Seminar attendees do not need to be PD Week delegates. The Free Seminars are intended to offer vendors cost effective access to the Congress Centre and an opportunity to invite special guests to attend information sessions or training in an environment conducive to networking as well as for companies to benefit from their association with the FMI and PD Week. Although the delegates are free to attend your event past experience has shown that it is most important for you to attract your own audience as the seminars are held at the same time as the PD Week program events. The success of each forum rests with the vendor.

The Free Seminars are held adjacent to the exhibit area and are easy to access (see the draft exhibit hall floor plan). Participants have free access to the entire area from 08:00 to 16:00 on November 27, 28 and 29 and from 08:00 to 12:00 on November 30. That is, you don't have to be a PD Week registrant to visit the exhibitor area and the booths. Speakers can invite special guests and targeted audiences for their sessions to participate in the Free Seminars and then offer them the opportunity to network with colleagues and service providers in the exhibitor hall.

There are 3 Speakers Forum available each day:

Session A 09:00 – 10:15 (AM)
Session B 10:45AM – 12:00 Noon
Session C 1:30 – 2:30 (not available on Friday)

The cost per session is $1,700. Two consecutive sessions on the same day can be combined for $2,700. Free Seminars booked by August 15 can have their session title and a description of their presentation included in the Conference Guide, which is distributed to over 3,000 government financial officers. The Free Seminar Area is equipped with theatre style seating, two screens and two projectors for lap tops (vendor to supply their own), a podium, a 6” elevated stage approximately 5 feet by 8 feet, one hands-free microphone for the speaker and one microphone on a stand in the audience area.
