The Power of the Dream

“I have always been a dreamer; I will always be a dreamer. I have discovered that The Power of the Dream gives hope, strength, courage, empowerment, and brings about profound transformation in individuals and groups of people, if one simple rule is followed - honour the dream by taking action.”
- Terry Kelly

Terry Kelly does not consider his blindness a handicap. But the challenges presented to him and the path of life this Newfoundland native has chosen are by no means ordinary. Terry's attitude has definitely determined his altitude. His ability to share his ups and downs while attacking all that life has to offer is one of the most moving experiences shared with audiences today.

Terry Kelly has given his "The Power of the Dream" presentation to tens of thousands of teachers, government employees and business people across Canada and the United States.

"The Power of the Dream" explores the importance of communication; confronting our fears, dreams, goals, challenges, choices and responsibilities; understanding and celebrating our differences; balancing our business and personal lives; team building and collegiality; the value of enthusiasm.

Political Abilities - Create an impression in your organization!

PLEASE NOTE:  This workshop is offered in French only.
However, simultaneous interpretation is available

Political Abilities:    You can’t succeed without them!

All organizations are – some more than others! – political entities.  Without resorting to machiavellianism, managers must, in order to be successful, maximize the use of their authority and develop their influence within their organization.

Do you know a successful employee, professional or manager that isn’t influential?  Do you think that the value of your work alone will be sufficient for you to succeed in your career?

In order to be influential and to become an “impact” person within your organization, you must know and master political abilities and develop your “situational intelligence”.

Political abilities, political sense and influence…they can be developed!

General objective of the workshop

Increase participants’ awareness of the importance of optimizing their influence in their organization to increase their efficiency and to optimize their career development.

Specific objectives

At the end of this workshop, the participants will:

  • Demystify notions of power, leadership and political abilities;
  • Learn the psychological profile of successful individuals and evaluate themselves against this profile;
  • Learn political tactics to optimize their influence within their organization.

Contents

The workshop covers:

  • Definitions, principles and dynamics of power, influence and leadership
  • Analysis of characteristics of successful employees, professionals and managers
  • Psychological basis of power and influence
  • 10 political tactics to “get through all types of situations”
  • Case study

Workshop approach
