Audit Committees are an integral part of corporate governance of an organization.  The Canadian government adopted this model with the establishment of Departmental Audit Committees, composed of mainly external members, for all large departments and agencies.  This is a significant change in the way of doing business from decades past.  Come hear how this oversight and challenge function is working at DFAIT from an external committee member, the CAE and CFO.

In the past, government audit and finance divisions had to work through a number of different mechanisms to access professional resources to support their work.  It is much easier now, with a one stop access tool:  the Professional Audit Support Services Supply Arrangement (PASS SA).   Come hear how the Office of the Comptroller General developed in collaboration with Public Works a tool to access audit and financial management resources.  It has been existence for over a year and has been improved through consultation with both the federal government and vendor communities.
