Top Concerns of US Federal Financial Professionals
In 2008, 239 federal financial management executives and managers took part in the 12th annual chief financial officer (CFO) survey sponsored by the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) and conducted by Grant Thornton LLP. Survey respondents are proud of the financial management and internal control successes of the past 7 years. However, they say that government must head in a new direction to achieve even greater gains. Future improvements need to focus on how the CFO can add value to missions and programs, not just comply with regulations.
Mr. Clif Williams is the author and main interviewer for the CFO Survey. His prolific career in the US Federal public service provides the depth of knowledge and experience to harness the real issues that face the Federal Financial Professionals. Are these issues similar to the ones we face in Canada? How are they being addressed? Join us in this session to gain some unique perspective on issues and best practices affecting more than 60,000 financial professionals in the USA.
