fmi*igf's has well-established partnerships with the three Canadian national accounting bodies (CMA, CGA, and CICA) as well as our American-equivalent organization, the Association of Government Accountants.
The Affiliates Advisory Group (AAG) was established in 2009 as a formal working group of fmi*igf. The mission of the AAG is to bring together academia, not-for-profit organization, industry and government executives to exchange information, support professional development, improve communication and understanding, solve issues, and build partnership and trust, thereby supporting fmi*igf’s vision of “Excellence in Public Sector Financial Management”.
fmi*igf has also established relationships with a number of leading Canadian organizations to provide world class presentations on our webinars or topical speakers at chapter events across Canada and provide on-going relevant articles for our web-site blog. fmi*igf national has also partnered with various Canadian universities in such initiatives as the Sprott School of Business-Financial Management Institute Business Case Writing Competition.
Founded in 1908, the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada is a self-regulating, professional association of 73,000 students and Certified General Accountants — CGAs.

CMA Canada grants a professional designation in management accounting and regulates its members under the authorization of provincial legislation. CMA Canada, a self-regulating body, maintains the highest standards, practices and professional conduct in management accounting to protect the public interest.
The CICA together with the provincial, territorial and Bermuda Institutes/Ordre of Chartered Accountants, represents a membership of approximately 74,000 CAs and 10,000 students in Canada and Bermuda. The CICA conducts research into current business issues and supports the setting of accounting, auditing and assurance standards for business, not-for-profit organizations and government. It issues guidance on control and governance, publishes professional literature, develops continuing education programs and represents the CA profession nationally and internationally. CICA is a founding member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA).
The Association of Government Accountants (AGA) supports the careers and professional development of government finance professionals working in federal, state and local governments as well as the private sector and academia. Founded in 1950, AGA has a long history of being the thought leader for the government accountability profession. Through education, research, publications, certification and conferences, AGA reaches thousands of professionals and provides more than 100,000 continuing professional education (CPE) hours annually.
