Partnerships & Affiliations

A guiding principle for fmi*igf is partnerships - bringing together employers, employees, education and government to meet the current and future needs of Canadian financial professionals.

The fmi*igf is involved with a network of like-minded organizations which exchange information, resources and knowledge.

Through these affiliations the fmi*igf’s partnering arrangements are designed to create mutual benefits for the fmi*igf organization, our members and the contributing business partners.

fmi*igf's has well-established partnerships with the three Canadian national accounting bodies (CMA, CGA, and CICA) as well as our American-equivalent organization, the Association of Government Accountants.

The Affiliates Advisory Group (AAG) was established in 2009 as a formal working group of fmi*igf. The mission of the AAG is to bring together academia, not-for-profit organization, industry and government executives to exchange information, support professional development, improve communication and understanding, solve issues, and build partnership and trust, thereby supporting fmi*igf’s vision of “Excellence in Public Sector Financial Management”.

fmi*igf has also established relationships with a number of leading Canadian organizations to provide world class presentations on our webinars or topical speakers at chapter events across Canada and provide on-going relevant articles for our web-site blog. fmi*igf national has also partnered with various Canadian universities in such initiatives as the Sprott School of Business-Financial Management Institute Business Case Writing Competition.
