The Halifax Chapter of the Financial Management Institute is offering a very special spring Professional Development event on Thursday, April 15, 2010. The theme is Auditor General.  Speakers will be:

Jacques LaPointe, CA, Auditor General for Nova Scotia, 

Kevin Potter of the Halifax Office of the Auditor General for Canada, and

Larry Munroe Auditor General for HRM 

This event is FREE and open to both members and non-members of FMI. It is offered as a special promotion for the FMI Financial Management Workshop "Cresting the Wave - Innovations in Accountability" which is being hosted by the Halifax Chapter June 13-15, 2010 in Halifax. This two day national workshop is an excellent professional development opportunity that is offered each spring in a Canadian city and last took place in Halifax in 1998. Our April 15th special event will feature an informative PD session, as well as, a number of special additions. Of course, there will be lots of desirable FMI products as door prizes and in addition, there will be a draw for a Free Registration for PSMW 2010.

For those in attendance, the Chapter will be offering an Early Bird Membership to the Halifax Chapter for $35.00 (regular $50.00) that will be effective immediately and qualify the member for the reduced registration rate for PSMW 2010 (a saving of $100.00) and will stay in effect for the full 2010-11 FMI year. (2010-11 Membership forms will be available upon registration the morning of the workshop)

The workshop will be held at the Halifax Club, 1682 Hollis Street, Halifax commencing at 8:30 am for registration and complimentary continental breakfast. Although this is a free event, advance registration is required as space is limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
