2007-2011

VISION:

To achieve a level of excellence that will rank FMI Fredericton Chapter as the professional development vehicle of choice for municipal, provincial and federal government employees in the Fredericton and surrounding areas.

MISSION STATEMENT:

To share best practices in managing public sector resources by providing FMI Fredericton Chapter members with relevant and timely professional development and networking opportunities, both locally and nationally.

STRATEGIES:

Strategy # 1: Provide professional development and networking opportunities to Chapter members

Strategic Objectives and Performance indicators

  • Provide well-attended professional development opportunities to members.

Performance Indicators:

  • Maintain an average attendance 50 per luncheon.
  • Maintain an average attendance of 75 per PD Day.
  • Hold professional development events on a monthly basis during Fall, Winter and Spring.

Performance Indicators:

  • Hold at least 6 professional development luncheons per year.
  • Hold at least one full day professional development seminar per year.
  • Ensure the content of professional development events is relevant to members.

Performance indicators:

  • Host at least 2 luncheons a year featuring speakers at the Deputy Minister level.
  • Receive a content satisfaction rating of at least 80% on event feedback forms.
  • Provide access to national/regional professional development opportunities.

Performance Indicators:

  • Provide assistance towards sending at least two board members (up to $3000) and one Chapter member (up to $1000) to PSMW each year.
  • Provide networking opportunities to Chapter members.

Performance Indicators

  • Satisfaction of 80% on event feedback forms. <
  • Provide monthly updates to members.

Strategy # 2 Strive to increase and strengthen Fredericton FMI Chapter’s reputation nationally

Strategic Objectives and Performance Indicators

  • Develop strong partnership with FMI National and other FMI Chapters to enhance professional development opportunities.

Performance Indicators:

  • Participate in PD events offered/organized by FMI National.
  • Participate in Atlantic Chapters President’s meeting.
  • Have at least one position on the National Board held by a Fredericton Chapter member.

Promote the Chapter and its membership to FMI National and other FMI Chapters.

Performance indicators:

  • Offer Board Members the opportunity to attend National and Regional FMI events.
  • Ensure the Fredericton Chapter is represented at all National Board Meetings.
  • Ensure the web-site is updated regularly and our events are advertised to all Atlantic Chapters.

Strategy # 3 Ensure the long-term viability of the Chapter.

Strategic Objectives and Performance Indicators

Promote and encourage membership involvement in the Board of Directors and various committees of the Chapter.

Performance Indicators:

  • Recruit at least one new board member each year.
  • Each board member will be a member of at least one board committee.
  • Establish terms of office for the Board members and the executive as well as committee members so that all nominees know what is expected of them.
  • Ensure the financial stability of the Chapter for both short-term and long-term initiatives.

Performance Indicators:

  • Maintain a minimum of $5,000 in Net Assets.
  • Ensure annual net deficit does not exceed 10% of Net Assets held at the beginning of the applicable year. (The Board will have the power to vote further expenditures in exceptional circumstances)
  • Breakeven on the Professional Development Program.
  • Develop a recruitment strategy that maintains membership at a minimum of 100 members.

Performance indicators:

  • Maintain demographics of Chapter membership as outlined by Board
  • Maintain membership turnover at less than 15% per year.
  • Obtain and track feedback at all events and achieve a satisfaction rating of at least 80%.

Strategy # 4: Develop Professional Partnerships

Strategic Objectives and Performance Indicators

  • Develop strategic alliances with other related professional organizations in order to broaden the base of professional development and networking opportunities available for members.

Performance Indicators:

  • Work with the Faculty of Business Administration at UNB and invite faculty members to participate in our luncheons and PD day.
  • Participate in the organization of at least one PD event in conjunction with other professional organizations.
  • Publicize PD Events through and with other professional organizations.
