The Financial Management Institute (fmi*igf) has been providing PSMW participants with educational opportunities, information exchange platforms and incomparable chances to network with colleagues, industry leaders and corporate suppliers for over 20 years.

With the current state of the economy, and the subsequent tightening of budgets for training and conference participation, the PSMW Organizing Committee has identified several organizational goals and linked these needs to the program being offered at PSMW 2010. By demonstrating how the PSMW program can assist delegates in meeting their job-based educational and informational requirements, prospective delegates will be able to present to their employers why they need to participate and outline what they will miss out on if they are not there.

The days of “I want to attend” are gone. The justification of “I need to attend” is the reality. The theme for this year’s Public Sector Management Workshop is “Cresting The Wave – Innovations in Accountability”. The public sector has been riding a wave of change, responding to pressures that have resulted from financial scandal, environmental issues and economic instability. These challenging situations have resulted in many innovations in the way we do business in the public sector.

During the two days of this workshop experts in public sector management will share innovations and analyze continuing challenges. There will be an opportunity to network with colleagues from across the country, share successes, enjoy Maritime hospitality and celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Canadian Navy, in its beautiful and exciting east coast home of Halifax.
