ABOUT REGINA
The capital city of Saskatchewan, Regina, is an oasis of buildings, trees and people in the middle of the rolling prairies. Named for Queen Victoria, Regina
is home to approximately 187,000 people, and we would like to extend our famous hospitality by welcoming you to the “Queen City”!
QUICK FACTS:
Regina is the sunniest capital city in Canada with an average of 2,365 sunshine hours each year. Regina is also home to over 100 parks, but the true jewel in the Queen City’s crown is Wascana Park. This 930 hectare (2300 acre) park is home to some of Regina’s most popular attractions, including the Legislative Building, Conexus Arts Centre, MacKenzie Art Gallery, Royal Saskatchewan Museum, and the Saskatchewan Science Centre.
The RCMP’s training academy and Centennial Museum are among Regina’s most popular tourist destinations. The Museum offers the history of the world’s most recognized and most admired police force, from its founding in 1873 to the present. Visitors can also see how and where recruits are trained.
The RCMP Heritage Centre, located near the academy, will be host to the PSMW 2009 Sunday reception. We hope to see you there!
